Up top, under the Tag “Plea for Creeds”, you will see an article on the importance of creeds. This is well-stated by the Presbyterian author, G.I. Williamson: “The Bible contains a great wealth of information. It isn’t easy to master it all – in fact, no one has ever mastered it completely. It would therefore be foolish for us to try to do it on our own, starting from scratch. We would be ignoring all the study of the Word of God that other people have done down through the centuries. That is exactly why we have creeds. They are the product of many centuries of Bible study by a great company of believers. They are a kind of spiritual “road map” of the teaching of the Bible, already worked out an proved by others before us.”
In other words, each of us should not try to “reinvent the wheel”. Let us use the sound Reformed doctrine that our faithful fathers of our faith developed. These teachings have stood the test of time. And, although they are certainly not on the same infallible and inerrant level of Scripture, they can be used with Scripture to keep us straight and true. Your daily reading of Scripture is most important, but your daily reading of the Reformed creeds and confessions can be a good supplement.
So, here is your daily dose of Reformed Creeds and Confessions. Every day, there is a bite-size quote from one of the Reformed creeds and confessions. It is a good way to digest them and keep them in us. It is like a spiritual vitamin. You don’t take a vitamin and think you can skip a meal. Likewise, you don’t read a “Daily Confession” and think you can skip either the reading of Scripture or catechism.
You will see a link in the “Links” column on the right side to Daily Confessions, and I also include it here in the body of this post – Click here: Daily Confession .
2 Thessalonians 2:15
“So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us.”

1 Timothy 4:6
“In pointing out these things to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound doctrine which you have been following.”
