Today’s devotion is Luke 16:1-13 which covers the parable of the shrewd but unrighteous steward. Here is the full chapter – Click here: Luke 16 – Passage Lookup – New American Standard Bible – BibleGateway.com
We will focus on verses 11 through 13.
“11 “Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you?
12 “And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?
13 “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” Luke 16:11-13. (Emphasis added.)
This devotion will focus on “the true riches”, but it seems appropriate to first at least briefly consider being “faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth”. I will cover it by being more general: “whatever you do“. Emphasis is frequently added in these Scriptures by bold and italic font and by underline.

So, what are “the true riches”?
“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” Matthew 13:44. ”Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.” Matthew 13:45-46.
Although “true riches” cannot be captured by just a review of the keyword “riches”, we can learn a lot about true riches by reviewing these verses. There are a lot of riches, so there are a lot of verses.
