“He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work … is finished.” – “For I am God … I will accomplish all My good pleasure”

Today’s devotion comes from 1 Chronicles 28:11-21.  Here is a link to this Scripture – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Chronicles%2028&version=NASB1995

I quote only the following verses.

“Then David gave to his son Solomon the plan of the porch of the temple, its buildings, its storehouses, its upper rooms, its inner rooms and the room for the mercy seat;  and the plan of all that he had in mind, for the courts of the house of the LORD, and for all the surrounding rooms, for the storehouses of the house of God and for the storehouses of the dedicated things;  also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD and for all the utensils of service in the house of the LORD;  for the golden utensils, the weight of gold for all utensils for every kind of service; for the silver utensils, the weight of silver for all utensils for every kind of service;  …

“All this,” said David, “the LORD made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, all the details of this pattern.”

Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and act;  do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, my God, is with you.  He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished.  Now behold, there are the divisions of the priests and the Levites for all the service of the house of God, and every willing man of any skill will be with you in all the work for all kinds of service.  The officials also and all the people will be entirely at your command.”  1 Chronicles 28:11-14 and 19-21.

————-

All the details of the pattern for the house of the LORD were the LORD’S workmanship.  “All this,” said David, “the LORD made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, all the details of this pattern.”  Verse 19.

All the work that would be done by Solomon would be done through the LORD giving the will to Solomon to do it and through the LORD working for His good pleasure. “Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and act;  do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, my God, is with you.  …”  Verse 20.

All the work for the service of the house of the LORD would be completed by the LORD.  “…  He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished.”  Verse 20.

The LORD will do likewise for us.  Consider the awesome work of the LORD!  To God be the glory!

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”  Ephesians 2:10.

“for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”  Philippians 2:12-13.

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 1:6.

Who is the LORD, our God?

“9 “Remember the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning,
And from ancient times things which have not been done,
Saying, ‘My purpose will be established,
And I will accomplish all My good pleasure
’;
11 Calling a bird of prey from the east,
The man of My purpose from a far country.
Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass.
I have planned it, surely I will do it.
” Isaiah 46:9-11.
