Today’s devotion comes from Exodus 3:13-17.
“Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” God, furthermore, said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations. Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say to them, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, “I am indeed concerned about you and what has been done to you in Egypt. So I said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, to a land flowing with milk and honey.”’ Exodus 3:13-17.

We see two names for God, and each name reveals qualities of God. His “I AM WHO I AM” name reveals His All-sufficient Being and Almighty qualities, and “The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob” name reveals His Heavenly Father qualities.
Consider His All-sufficient Being and Almighty qualities described in the Westminster Larger Catechism.
Q7: What is God?
A7: God is a Spirit, in and of himself infinite in being, glory, blessedness, and perfection; all-sufficient, eternal, unchangeable, incomprehensible, everywhere present, almighty, knowing all things, most wise, most holy, most just, most merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.
Consider the comforting combination of His Almighty and Heavenly Father qualities described in the Heidelberg Catechism.
Q. 26. What believest thou when thou sayest, “I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth”?
A. That the eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (who of nothing made heaven and earth, with all that is in them; who likewise upholds and governs the same by His eternal counsel and providence) is, for the sake of Christ His Son, my God and my Father; on whom I rely so entirely, that I have no doubt but He will provide me with all things necessary for soul and body; and further, that He will make whatever evils He sends upon me, in this valley of tears, turn out to my advantage; for He is able to do it, being Almighty God, and willing, being a faithful Father.
“O LORD, our Lord,
How majestic is Your name in all the earth,
Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!” Psalm 8:1.
“Worship the LORD with reverence
And rejoice with trembling.” Psalm 2:11.
“Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones,
And give thanks to His holy name.” Psalm 30:4.
“Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.” Matthew 6:9.
