Today’s Scripture begins with a name of God: “righteous Father“. Jesus states: “… I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:26.
We are reminded of Jeremiah 9:23-24. “Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.”
What should we state about the lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness of God?!
“5 Your lovingkindness, O LORD, extends to the heavens,
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
Your judgments are like a great deep
O LORD, You preserve man and beast.
7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
8 They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house;
And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
9 For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.
10 O continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You,
And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.” Psalm 36:5-10.
And, our “righteous God” brings that righteousness to us “by His doing” through His Son Jesus Christ. “But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD.” 1 Corinthians 1:30-31.
Our hope is based on Christ within us: “I in them.” John 17:26.
“… Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27.
“If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.” Romans 8:10.
