Today’s devotion comes from Psalm 34:15-22. Due to the length of this devotion and the importance of faith that the LORD will deliver us out of all of our troubles AND the importance of not worrying and not be anxious AND the importance of meditating on and trusting God’s promises, we will pause a few days to meditate on today’s devotion. The next devotion, God willing, will be on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
“15 The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against evildoers,
To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry, and the LORD hears
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted
And saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones,
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
22 The LORD redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.” Psalm 34:15-22.
—————
It would be good enough if the LORD delivered us out of some of our troubles. Certainly, it would be good enough if the LORD delivered us out of all of the most important troubles. But, we twice read that the LORD delivers us out of “all” of our troubles!!
“The righteous cry, and the LORD hears
And delivers them out of all their troubles.” Verse 17.
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them all.” Verse 19.
But, what about the context of the verses in today’s Scripture?
Again, twice within the same Psalm 34 chapter, we read similar language of the LORD delivers us out of “all” of our troubles!!
“I sought the LORD, and He answered me,
And delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4.
“This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him
And saved him out of all his troubles.” Psalm 34:6.
The LORD delivers us out of all of our troubles!! The LORD delivers us out of all of the big troubles, and the LORD even delivers us out of all of the small troubles!!
We are commanded to trust the LORD: “casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7.

So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.

“… for He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,” Hebrews 13:5.
“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
3 Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;
4 Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
5 Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.” Psalm 103:1-5.

“8 “But you, Israel, My servant,
Jacob whom I have chosen,
Descendant of Abraham My friend,
9 You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth,
And called from its remotest parts
And said to you, ‘You are My servant,
I have chosen you and not rejected you.
10 ‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

“5 You will not be afraid of the terror by night,
Or of the arrow that flies by day;
6 Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
7 A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But it shall not approach you.
8 You will only look on with your eyes
And see the recompense of the wicked.
9 For you have made the LORD, my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
10 No evil will befall you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.” Psalm 91:5-10.
“The LORD will accomplish what concerns me;
Your lovingkindness, O LORD, is everlasting;
Do not forsake the works of Your hands.” Psalm 138:8.
“You will establish peace for us,
Since You have also performed for us all our works.” Isaiah 26:12.

In conclusion, the LORD will deliver us out of all of our troubles! Do not worry nor be anxious! Meditate on God’s word day and night and trust God’s promises!
“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

And in His law he meditates day and night.

Which yields its fruit in its season
