Amazing Grace: How Sweet the Sound!

Today’s devotion is Acts 10:44-48.
 
“44  While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. 
                               
 45  All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.  
                            
 46  For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God.  Then Peter answered,
                                      

 47  “Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”

 48  And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.  Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.”  Acts 10:44-48.

It is grace that “the Holy Spirit fell upon all those listening to the message”.

It is amazing, “because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured on the Gentiles also”.

How Sweet the Sound!  “For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God.” 

We remember Acts 2:17.  ” ‘AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,’ God says,
         ‘THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND;  …’ ”

We also remember Galatians 3:13-14.  “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us–for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE”–in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

How historic!  How thrilling!  How amazing!
