56 “You hypocrites! You know how to analyze the appearance of the earth and the sky, but why do you not analyze this present time?” Luke 12:54-56.
This Scripture reminds me of 1 Chronicles 12:32: “Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.”
As we read this Scripture, we pray that our political leaders may understand the times, with knowledge of what we should do as a nation, as a state, and as a city. We also pray that we ourselves, in our personal lives, may also understand the times, with knowledge of what we should do.
We can and should turn to Christ “in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:3
We are also assured by James 1:5-8 that we can ask God for wisdom and He will give it to us. “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
