 ¹⁷  and after getting into a boat, they started to cross the sea to Capernaum. It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.

 ¹⁸  The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing.

 ¹⁹  Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened.

 ²⁰  But He said to them, “It is I;  do not be afraid.”

 ²¹  So they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.”  John 6:15-21. 

Last night as I worried about one of my sons, Jesus spoke to me through this Scripture:  “It is I;  do not be afraid.” 

This early morning as I wondered about what I would write, Jesus spoke to me through this Scripture:  “It is I;  do not be afraid.” 

Later, as I will go to work and face all that is on my calendar, Jesus will speak to me through this Scripture:  “It is I;  do not be afraid.” 

As we are willing to receive Him, our boat will also be at the land where we are going.  Sometimes, Jesus calms the seas.  Other times, Jesus calms our hearts.  In either case, when we trust and receive Jesus, we will be where we should be.

So, when we do trust and receive Jesus, where are we? 

In the love of God! 

In the same boat as Jesus!                                                                                 

We are “seated … with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus”.

^“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”  Ephesians 2:4-7.

^“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 8:38-39.
