 ⁹  “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.

 ¹⁰  “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love;  just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

 ¹¹  “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”  John 15:7-11.

Let us apply this last verse.  “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”  John 15:7-11. 

Abide in Me and My words abide in you, “so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”

Ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you, “so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”

Glorify God, “so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”

Bear much fruit so to prove that you are My disciples, “so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”

Abide in My love, “so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”

Keep My commandments, “so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”

We can better understand the simpler meaning that our joy may be made full, but what does it mean that Christ’s joy may be in us?  Does it mean that Christ experiences joy by thinking about us?  Or, does it mean that Christ gives us joy, so that our joy is full, because we have Christ’s joy?

There may be a sense of both meanings to Christ’s phrase “so My joy may be in you”.

Christ experiences joy by thinking about us.

Zephaniah 3:17
“The LORD your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.”

Hebrews 12:2
“fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

And, Christ does give us joy.

Luke 2:10
“But the angel said to them, ” Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;”

Galatians 5:22
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”

“These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”  John 15:7-11.
