“Irresistable Grace”: God will lead, redeem, guide, and plant His elect people in salvation.

Today’s devotion comes from Exodus 15:11-18.

“11 “Who is like You among the gods, O Lord?

Who is like You, majestic in holiness,

Awesome in praises, working wonders?

12 “You stretched out Your right hand,

The earth swallowed them.

13 “In Your lovingkindness You have led the people whom You have redeemed;

In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation.

14 “The peoples have heard, they tremble;

Anguish has gripped the inhabitants of Philistia.

15 “Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed;

The leaders of Moab, trembling grips them;

All the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.

16 “Terror and dread fall upon them;

By the greatness of Your arm they are motionless as stone;

Until Your people pass over, O Lord,

Until the people pass over whom You have purchased.

17 “You will bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance,

The place, O Lord, which You have made for Your dwelling,

The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.

18 “The Lord shall reign forever and ever.” Exodus 15:11-18.

Today’s Scripture reminds us of the “Irresistable Grace” of God. “In Your lovingkindness You have led the people whom You have redeemed; In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation. … “You will bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, The place, O Lord, which You have made for Your dwelling, The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.” Verses 13 and 17.

“In Your lovingkindness” refers to “God’s grace”.

“In Your strength” refers to “irresistible”.

Putting it together, through the “Irresistable Grace” of God, “You have led the people”, “You have redeemed”, “You have guided them to Your holy habitation.”, and “You will bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance”.

We are reminded of John 6:44-45: “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught of God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me.

“Irresistable Grace” is the fourth point of “TULIP”, the Five Points of Calvinism, the Reformed Doctrine of Salvation.

“TULIP” summarizes Scripture which teaches that God is absolutely sovereign and that God solely decides who will be saved (God’s elect a/k/a His people) and that God will do everything necessary to bring them to salvation. God will lead, redeem, guide, and plant His elect people in salvation. “Salvation belongs to the Lord; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.” Psalm 3:8. “The Lord shall reign forever and ever.” Verse 18.
