“A vineyard of wine, sing of it! “I, the Lord, am its keeper; I water it every moment. … I guard it night and day.”

Today’s devotion comes from Isaiah chapter 27.  Here is a link to this chapter – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah+27&version=NASB

I quote only the following verses.

In that day,
“A vineyard of wine, sing of it!
“I, the Lord, am its keeper;
I water it every moment.
So that no one will damage it,
I guard it night and day.

“I have no wrath.
Should someone give Me briars and thorns in battle,
Then I would step on them, I would burn them completely.
“Or let him rely on My protection,
Let him make peace with Me,
Let him make peace with Me.”
In the days to come Jacob will take root,
Israel will blossom and sprout,
And they will fill the whole world with fruit.”  Isaiah 27:2-6.

————————–

We sing for joy that the LORD is the keeper of the vineyard and takes such good care of it.  We sing for joy at the fruitfulness of God’s vineyard.

“In the days to come Jacob will take root,
Israel will blossom and sprout,
And they will fill the whole world with fruit.”  Verse 6.

“And the Lord will continually guide you,
And satisfy your desire in scorched places,
And give strength to your bones;
And you will be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.”  Isaiah 58:11.

12 The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree,
He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Planted in the house of the Lord,
They will flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They will still yield fruit in old age;
They shall be full of sap and very green,
15 To declare that the Lord is upright;
He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”  Psalm 92:12-15.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.”  Psalm 1:2-3.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord
And whose trust is the Lord.
“For he will be like a tree planted by the water,
That extends its roots by a stream
And will not fear when the heat comes;
But its leaves will be green,
And it will not be anxious in a year of drought
Nor cease to yield fruit.”  Jeremiah 17:7-8.

But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;
I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever.
I will give You thanks forever, because You have done it,
And I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.”  Psalm 52:8-9.

So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.”  Matthew 7:17-18.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control;  against such things there is no law.”  Galatians 5:22-23.
