“You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, Those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent.”

Today’s devotion comes from Ezekiel chapter 35.  Here is a link to this Scripture – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ezekiel+35&version=NASB

I quote only the following verses.

“Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me saying, “Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it and say to it, ‘Thus says the Lord God,

“Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir,
And I will stretch out My hand against you
And make you a desolation and a waste.
“I will lay waste your cities
And you will become a desolation.
Then you will know that I am the Lord.

Because you have had everlasting enmity and have delivered the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of the punishment of the end, therefore as I live,” declares the Lord God, “I will give you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you;  since you have not hated bloodshed, therefore bloodshed will pursue you.  I will make Mount Seir a waste and a desolation and I will cut off from it the one who passes through and returns.  I will fill its mountains with its slain;  on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those slain by the sword will fall.  I will make you an everlasting desolation and your cities will not be inhabited.  Then you will know that I am the Lord.

“Because you have said, ‘These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them,’ although the Lord was there, therefore as I live,” declares the Lord God, “I will deal with you according to your anger and according to your envy which you showed because of your hatred against them;  so I will make Myself known among them when I judge you.”  Ezekiel 35:1-11.

———————-

The LORD fiercely defends His people.

“But you, Israel, My servant,
Jacob whom I have chosen,
Descendant of Abraham My friend,
You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth,
And called from its remotest parts
And said to you, ‘You are My servant,
I have chosen you and not rejected you.
10 ‘Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
11 Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored;
Those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish.
12 You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them,
Those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent.”  Isaiah 41:8-12.
