Today’s devotion comes from Genesis 17:1-8.
“Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him,
“I am God Almighty;
Walk before Me, and be blameless.
“I will establish My covenant between Me and you,
And I will multiply you exceedingly.”
Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,
“As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you,
And you will be the father of a multitude of nations.
“No longer shall your name be called Abram,
But your name shall be Abraham;
For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come forth from you. I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” Genesis 17:1-8.

Most want to learn and talk about themselves.
But, in sharp contrast, the righteous want to learn and talk about God.
Most proudly ask: “… What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” John 6:28.
But, in sharp contrast, in deep humility, “Abraham fell on his face …” Verse 3. And, “… ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Romans 4:3.
Abraham “… believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.” Romans 4:17.
“In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, “SO SHALL YOR DESCENDANTS BE.” Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. Therefore IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Romans 4:18-22.
“So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.” Galatians 3:9.
