“I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.” – “Stand firm therefore, … having put on the breastplate of righteousness,”

Today’s devotion comes from Exodus 28:15-30.  Here is a link to this Scripture –  https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2028&version=NASB1995

I quote only the following verses.

“You shall make a breastpiece of judgment, the work of a skillful workman;  like the work of the ephod you shall make it:  of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen you shall make it.  It shall be square and folded double, a span in length and a span in width.  You shall mount on it four rows of stones;  the first row shall be a row of ruby, topaz and emerald;  and the second row a turquoise, a sapphire and a diamond;  and the third row a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst;  and the fourth row a beryl and an onyx and a jasper;  they shall be set in gold filigree.  The stones shall be according to the names of the sons of Israel:  twelve, according to their names;  they shall be like the engravings of a seal, each according to his name for the twelve tribes.  …   Aaron shall carry the names of the sons of Israel in the breastpiece of judgment over his heart when he enters the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually.  You shall put in the breastpiece of judgment the Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be over Aaron’s heart when he goes in before the LORD;  and Aaron shall carry the judgment of the sons of Israel over his heart before the LORD continually.”  Exodus 28:15-21 and 29-30.

————————–

God provided a breastpiece of judgment for Aaron which served as a reminder of the judgment a/k/a justice and righteousness that were to be on Aaron’s heart at all times.  In addition, the names of the sons of Israel were to be on the breastplate of judgment which served as a reminder that they were to be on Aaron’s heart at all times.

Likewise, judgment a/k/a justice and righteousness were on Christ’s heart at all times.  Through God’s grace, judgment a/k/a justice and righteousness are also on our hearts at all times.

Likewise, the names of God’s chosen people were on Christ’s heart at all times.  Through God’s grace, the names of God’s chosen people are also on our hearts at all times.

“Thus says the LORD, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches;  but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth;  for I delight in these things,” declares the LORD.”  Jeremiah 9:23-24.

Until He has established justice in the earth;
And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law.” Isaiah 42:1-4.

“For I (Christ) have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.  This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.”  John 6:38-39.
