Today’s devotion comes from Exodus 35:10-19. Here is a link to this Scripture – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2035&version=NASB1995
I quote only the following verses.
“‘Let every skillful man among you come, and make all that the LORD has commanded: the tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its sockets; the ark and its poles, the mercy seat, and the curtain of the screen;” Exodus 35:10-12.
—————
There is a trilogy of verses which describes God’s work within us, so that we can be that “skillful man” and do “all that the LORD has commanded”. The three verses cover the beginning, the middle, and end of God’s work within us.
I have often quoted these three verses in these daily devotions and I use these three verses to pray that God will do it before I work every day. I also have the middle verse (quoted in the subject line above) in an art piece hanging on the wall in my office.
I will start with the portion of it in my morning prayer, and I will end this daily devotion with the three verses as I like to conclude every devotion with Scripture alone.
The prayers vary, but the portion of it goes something like this –
Dear Heavenly Father:
We are Your workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works that You prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Please cause us by Your Spirit to walk in those good works that You prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Please perform and accomplish those good works that You prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Please fill our good works and our good words with the fruit of Your Spirit so that others will see our good works and will read or hear our good words and will glorify You in Heaven and so that Your perfect purpose for us will be accomplished.
Please work in us, giving us the will to do Your work and working in us Your good pleasure.
You began a good work in us. Please perfect the good work that You began in us as You promise to do so in Your Word.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.
“for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13.
“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6.
